Who We Are

The ISLAM AWARENESS FOUNDATION (iAF) is a UK-registered charity dedicated to promoting an authentic understanding of Islam, addressing misconceptions about Islam and Muslims, and fostering greater community cohesion across the UK.

Our work brings together Islamic education, public Dawah, community engagement, and practical support for those in need. Through respectful dialogue and outreach, we aim to make the message of Islam accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Our Dawah work takes us to different cities and communities across the UK. Through street Dawah and public outreach, we engage with people, answer questions, address misconceptions, and provide opportunities to learn about Islam directly. Our long-term aim is to reach communities across the UK and promote a clearer and more authentic understanding of Islam.

We also support local communities through food and water distribution and contributions to local food banks, helping provide food for those in need regardless of faith or background.

Guided by the values of faith, mercy, justice, compassion, and service, we strive to strengthen communities, promote mutual understanding, and make a positive contribution to society.

Alongside our Dawah and educational work, we are committed to serving communities through practical support for those in need.

Through all our activities, we seek to share the teachings of Islam in a peaceful, respectful, and accessible manner, while promoting understanding, mutual respect, and positive community relations.

What We Do

We promote the peaceful teachings of Islam through Dawah, education, public outreach, and community service. Our work focuses on sharing an authentic understanding of Islam, addressing misconceptions, supporting new Muslims, and serving communities across the UK.

Public Dawah & Islamic Literature

We organise Dawah stalls across the UK and periodically travel to different cities and communities to engage with the public.

Through respectful and open dialogue, we answer questions, address misconceptions about Islam, and give people the opportunity to learn about its teachings directly.

We also distribute Qur’ans and Islamic literature free of charge to Muslims and non-Muslims, providing access to reliable information about Islam and its teachings.

We seek to make the message of Islam accessible through public outreach, educational materials, seminars, interfaith activities, and personal engagement.

New Muslim Support

We support people who embrace Islam by providing guidance, educational resources, practical support, and opportunities to strengthen their understanding and practise their faith.

Where possible, we also assist new Muslims through community support and Umrah opportunities.

Food & Community Support

Alongside our street Dawah activities, we provide free food and water for those in need.

We also contribute to local food banks and community initiatives, helping provide food and essential support to people experiencing hardship, regardless of their faith or background.

Youth & Community Engagement

We aim to encourage positive moral development among young people and promote social cohesion, mutual understanding, and positive relationships within society.

Through educational programmes, interfaith activities, and community engagement, we seek to encourage respectful dialogue and greater understanding between people from different backgrounds.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a thriving and compassionate community based upon faith, understanding, service, and mutual respect, where people from all backgrounds feel welcomed and able to learn about Islam.

Islamic Dawah and Community Centre

In shā’ Allah, we aim to establish a permanent Islamic Dawah and Community Centre with a dedicated food bank.

Looking Ahead

Our current work continues through street Dawah, Qur’an and Islamic literature distribution, new Muslim support, food and water distribution, and contributions to local food banks and community initiatives.

As our organisation develops, In shā’ Allah, we hope to expand these activities and establish our permanent Islamic Dawah and Community Centre with a dedicated food bank.

This future project will provide a stronger foundation from which to expand our Dawah, educational, and charitable work and serve the wider community on a larger scale.
